The molecular transfer processes in a singletemperature neutral gas mixture
Abstract
A 'molecular determining system' (MDS) for thermodynamic fluxes in a singletemperature neutral gas mixture (i.e., a set of algebraic equations for calculating diffusion fluxes, partial viscous stresses, and partial heat fluxes) is constructed. A phenomenological modification to the MDS is suggested for the case when polyatomic components are present in the mixture. A solution for a threecomponent mixture is obtained which can be used in upper atmospheric modeling problems.
