A note on the diffraction by a barrier with finite acoustic impedance
Abstract
An approximate theory of diffraction by an absorbent barrier is constructed on the basis of a heuristic concept proposed by Sommerfeld (1896). This theory accounts for absorption of the barrier's rear surface. Moreover, the reciprocity theorem is satisfied.
