Anti-Stokes coherent Raman diffusion study of a multipolar hydrogen plasma
Abstract
A low pressure H2 plasma created under magnetic confinement is studied to determine the space-time distribution of the rotation/vibration state populations. The plasma generator and the optical instruments are described. The measurements show the importance of collisions with the wall to damp vibration, while the rotation relaxation is mainly dependent on molecule to molecule collisions.
