Mirrabooka X-ray astronomy experiment
Abstract
An X-ray astronomy experiment is proposed for the Australian Mirrabooka satellites. The experiment covers the energy range 1.5-200 keV employing two different types of multiwire proportional counter detectors. Simultaneous observations with unprecedented sensitivity over this large energy range should lead to a much better understanding of the physical processes in X-ray emitting astrophysical sources, particularly compact objects.
