Hyperbolic conservation laws in two dimensions  Some theoretical and numerical results
Abstract
A classification scheme of coherent nonlinear wave modes which are solutions of twodimensional Riemann problems is presented. Results from a numerical simulation of regular and Mach shock reflection using front tracking are given, the latter providing an example of how the motion of a twodimensional coherent wave, the Mach triple point, is determined numerically. By considering a scalar conservation law, the entropy solution to the twodimensional Riemann problem is explicitly constructed.
