A real time configurable SS/TDMA equipment for second generation French telecommunications satellite project
Abstract
This paper presents a SS/TDMA on board system which includes a 4 x 4 crossbar Microwave Switch Matrix, a Test and Control Data Processing equipment, the bulk of it being a microprocessor, and a Synchronization Unit. The whole system is controlled and tested by a specialized 2 kbit/s link which is established permanently. It allows therefore to operate with real-time demand assignment. In addition the system offers a great flexibility to evaluate its performances. It will prefigure a qualified system for French second generation communication satellites.
