Interactive coupling of oceanic top layer models and atmospheric circulation models
Abstract
The inteactive coupling of oceanic and atmospheric models in the study of the interaction between ocean and atmosphere and its role in climate changes, is discussed. This interactive coupling leads to numerical problems due to the different reaction times of the media water and air, and errors due to feedback effects. The two applied models are presented. Empirical correction terms were applied in order to avoid errors due to coupling between the model components; the value of these terms is discussed.
