Strange dibaryons
Abstract
Dibaryonic systems with strangeness S=-2 and S=-1 were studied with a missing mass spectrometer, searching for narrow structures in a mass interval in the neighborhood of the YN, YY thresholds (between 2.0 and 2.5 GeV/csq). No evidence for the presence of structures is found in the reaction K(-)d yields K(+) + MM (B=2, I=1, S=-2) and in the reactions K(-)d yields pi(+) + MM, pi(-)d yields K(+) + MM (B=2, I=3/2, S=-1), at 1.4 GeV/c incident momentum. The production of a strange dibaryonic system (B=2, I=1/2, S=-1) called H1(+) (M=2130 MeV/csq) was studied with incident momenta between 0.9 and 1.4 GeV/c, in the reaction K(-)d yields pi(-) + H1(+) and in the line reversed reaction pi(+)d yields K(+) + H1(+).
