Stepanov growth of shaped lithium niobate and tantalate crystals
Abstract
A process for the growth of shaped LiNbO3 and LiTaO3 ferroelectric crystals based on the Stepanov growth technique is described. In particular, attention is given to methods for determining the physical constants of lithium niobate and tantalate melts and evaluating the quality of grown crystals. Optical transmission spectra of the crystals in the ranges 300-700 nm and 2.5-10 microns are presented.
