Integration of NavierStokes equations by a pseudospectral method with domain transformation
Abstract
An algorithm for the Helmholtz equation with domain transformation is presented. Discretization is achieved by developing Chebyshev polynomials in truncated series. A linear transportdiffusion problem of a scalar field is solved using an integration scheme in stable time treating the convective and diffusive terms implicitly. A superposition method for calculating the pressure in the incompressible NavierStokes equation is outlined. Results for GreenTaylor vortices, an entrained polar cavity, and a two dimensional channel of variable profile are given.
