An 11/14 GHz European multiple contoured beam antenna subsystem development
Abstract
A feed demonstration model for a general linear bipolarization satellite antenna for use in the transmission frequency band 10.95 to 12.75 GHz and in the receive frequency band 14.00 to 14.50 GHz was developed. A dual-gridded antenna with two linearly polarized feeds is proposed. Each feed must be used in the Tx and Rx bands. Main parts of the feed are wide bandwidth (10 to 15 GHz) dielectrically loaded horns and the beam forming network. They were individually tested before integration after which the feed and antenna performances were measured. Mechanical and thermal analyses confirm the validity of the design.
