The analysis of starlight : one hundred and fifty years of astronomical spectroscopy
Abstract
The development of astronomical spectroscopy up to 1970 is examined in a historical overview. The emphasis is on the earliest discoveries and significant breakthroughs rather than on present knowledge. Diagrams, drawings, graphs, photographs, and tables of numerical data are provided.
