A 2-D array imaging system with direct readout foveal patch
Abstract
The 8-12 micron two-dimensional CdHgTe detector arrays developed in recent years work on the principle of electronic scanning; the outputs from all the elements of a line are read simultaneously, and then the next line is addressed. Attention is presently given to a 32 x 32-element CdHgTe detector incorporating a 4 x 4-element central patch that can be read out as part of the main array. This detector is rendered able to operate in different modes through the modification of an existing imaging system that is compatible with a variety of two-dimensional detector arrays.
