Continuous sweep pressure prediction technique
Abstract
A pressure prediction technique has been adapted to continuous sweep type data acquisition during wind tunnel tests. The technique uses instantaneous pressure measurements to predict a time-varying orifice pressure, wherein pneumatic lag exists between the orifice and the pressure measurement transducer. A description of the technique is presented along with typical results that demonstrate the usefulness of the technique for improving data productivity and increasing test capabilities. Rapid boundary layer surveys have been obtained, without waiting for pressure stabilization, thereby making it possible to obtain the data under 'cold wall' conditions.
