Influence of the halide concentration on the discharge stability and energy characteristics of He/Xe/HCl lasers - Numerical simulation
Abstract
The development of step-wise instability in He/Xe/HCl mixtures containing different HCl concentrations is numerically simulated under lasing conditions. It is found that the instability development time decreases with increasing HCl pressure. In effect, the radiation energy (lambda = 308 nm) passes through a maximum which occurs in the concentration interval N(HCl) = 4 x 10 to the 16th-17th/cu cm, depending on the electric field.
