Feasibility of controlling the motion of acoustoelectromagnetic solitons
Abstract
The system of nonlinear equations for the slowly varying amplitudes of acoustoelectromagnetic waves is of fundamental significance in the investigation of various resonant parametric interactions. It can be integrated in principle by means of the machinery of the inverse scattering problem, and it has soliton solutions. The most interesting effects occur in the presence of a fairly extended pump-wave packet. In this paper, it is shown that the space-time evolution of the amplitudes of acoustoelectromagnetic waves in nonlinear interaction depends essentially on the type of modulation of the pump wave. The center position and the velocity of the solitons are determined by the modulation function, implying that the motion of the solitons can be actively controlled.
