A statistical approach to the solution of the Boltzmann equation
Abstract
A simple unshifted easily implementable Monte Carlo scheme is proposed for calculating the linear functionals of a solution to the full Boltzmann equation. It is shown that the statistical error of the method is proportional to (nN) exp 1/2, where n is the number of the modeled particles in a group and N is the number of independent realizations of groups of n particles.
