Current problems in computational fluid dynamics
Abstract
Numerical methods and their applications to fluid dynamics are described. Consideration is given to methods for computing supersonic flow past lifting bodies, grid-characteristic methods in multidimensional problems of gas dynamics, and the difference potentials method for numerical solution of problems in the mechanics of continuous media. Higher-accuracy methods for solving fluid dynamics problems, the three-dimensional boundary layer at the surface of a dihedral corner, and the stability of a compressible boundary layer against three-dimensional disturbance with self-induced pressure gradient are examined.
