Mean density of meteor stream incident on Earth
Abstract
The average density of the flux of meteoroid bodies falling onto the Earth is determined over a wide mass range (0.001 to 100 g) using comprehensive photographic and radar observational data covering a period from 1957 to date. The characteristics of the falling flux of meteoroids are determined using a simple method which eliminates the effect of most of the factors associated with the selectivity of instruments. The results obtained are in good agreement with those reported by Hughes (1972).
