Plane-wave diffraction by large-radius dielectric cylinders
Abstract
Modified calculation formulas are derived which are applicable to cylinders of large as well as small diameters. The formulas can be used to obtain diffraction patterns for dielectric cylinders and to determine the angular position of the minima of these patterns as a function of diameter 2a up to and greater than 2a = 3000 lambda. The results are of interest in connection with the study of microwave devices.
