Mathematical relation between Rayleigh fading and dBnormal fading and its application to fading reduction
Abstract
The amplitude distribution of a Rayleigh fading's medians, which are taken during about one mean fading period, is discretely expressed by a function of a fading number, and the amplitude distribution of the logarithmic medians proves to satisfy the necessary conditions of a normal distribution when the number of medians is large enough. The difference between the logarithmic medians' distribution and the normal distribution is numerically shown corresponding to several values of the fading number, which can be used for estimating the reduction of a fading range by diversities.
