Optimal properties of ensembles of binary sequences
Abstract
The objective of the study is to demonstrate the optimality of three families of periodic discrete signals, i.e., ensembles of Gold, Kasami, and bentfunction sequences, both with respect to the boundaries and with respect to the criterion of the rms lobe of periodic uncertainty functions and periodic mutual uncertainty functions in the symmetric Doppler band. It is shown that all the three sequence ensembles are optimal with respect to the minimax criterion, i.e., in the sense of the boundaries, and asymptotically optimal with respect to the rms level of periodic mutual uncertainty functions in the symmetric Doppler band.
