Method for the synthesis of receiving antennas with prescribed scattering properties
Abstract
A method for the synthesis of receiving antennas effecting energy absorption under specified requirements on the scattered-field structure is presented with emphasis on the problem of reducing the disturbance produced in the incident wave by the antenna. Attention is given to cases when the distribution of the scattered field in the entire space or the field level in a specific direction is prescribed. The method used is based on the representation of the scattered field in a form corresponding to a system of several equivalent sources. The problem is reduced to the determination of the shape of the antenna and the boundary conditions on its surface.
