The chemical composition, mineralogy and geochemical characteristics of the new Kaidun meteorites.
Abstract
The content of the main and trace elements, the mineral composition, and the mineral chemistry of four different types of material of the Kaidun meteorite (a highly heterogeneous breccia) are investigated. The main part of the meteorite (Kaidun I) is a type 2 anomalous carbonaceous chondrite. Xenolites are represented by the carbonaceous chondrite Kaidun II (type 1 and anomalous) and by the enstatite chondrites Kaidun III (EH5 and subjected to hydration) and Kaidun IV (EL3). The impact and thermal histories of the meteorite are examined.
