A hybrid-iterative method for scattering problems
Abstract
A new method called the hybrid-iterative method, which computes the induced currents on a perfectly conducting, convex closed scatterer, is presented. This technique is obtained by incorporating edge diffraction theory and Fock theory into the Ansatz of the iterative technique for solving the magnetic field integral equation. Theory relevant to initial estimates of the shadow-side currents for both smooth and edged bodies is presented along with calculated results. Both edged bodies, exemplified by a square cylinder, and smooth bodies, exemplified by circular and elliptic cylinders, are considered.
