Mutual admittance between slots on a cylinder using the extended Poynting vector method
Abstract
It is shown that the extended Poynting vector method provides an alternative way of calculating the mutual admittance between two identical slots on a circular cylinder. This method yields formulas with quite different convergence properties than the reaction theorem formula. However, these formulas complement each other, in the sense that they converge for different slot separations, and they can be converted into each other after extensive manipulations. The extended Poynting vector method thus proves to be a simple tool for deriving the mutual coupling between antenna elements on both planar surfaces and on cylinders.
