Numerical analysis of a CW RF pumped CO2 waveguide laser
Abstract
The effects of gas temperature, diffusion, and electron density on laser gain are taken into account in the present, fully two-dimensional analysis of a steady state RF-excited, rectangular bore CO2 waveguide laser. Good agreement is noted in comparisons of the predicted small-signal gain and output laser power with experimental results. Attention is given to the generation rate of excited species and the waveguide heat transfer equation, as well as to pressure effects.
