Free-electron laser with the slow wave medium
Abstract
In the present one-dimensional linear theory for a FEL with slow wave medium uses a Fourier transform treatment; eigenfields are found, and the derivation of the dispersion equations for electron-field interactions is presented, together with approximate and analytic expressions for the generated emission. On the basis of the eigenfields thus obtained, mechanisms are proposed for both cogyrotron and inverse-gyrotron synchronization.
