Novalike Object in Centaurus
Abstract
W. Liller, Instituto Isaac Newton, Vina del Mar, reports his discovery of a novalike object at R.A. = 13h17m40s, Decl. = -55deg34'9 (equinox 1950.0, uncertainty 20"), 2'6 south of SAO 240765. Magnitudes (2415 film plus orange filter): Jan. 3.30 UT, 10.9; 9.30, 10.8; 13.26, 7.5; 17.24, 8.5; Feb. 3.34, 12.5; 11.20, [12.5; 17.28, [12.5 (uncertainty 0.2 mag on Jan. 3 and 9, 0.5 mag later). The Papadopoulos atlas shows a mag 14 star near the position.
