Wave motions in an anisotropic ionosphere.
Abstract
The velocity field of the horizontal field in the ionosphere is determined on a global scale with allowance for the anisotropy of the ionospheric plasma conductivity. The Jacchia-71 neutral-atmosphere model and ionospheric models are used for the numerical calculation of characteristic relaxation times and resonant oscillation periods of the wind at different latitudes and heights of the daytime summer ionosphere.
