Relationship between anomalies of VLF signals on extended midlatitude paths and the ring current of a magnetospheric storm
Abstract
The paper examines anomalies in the diurnal variations of VLF-signal phase on shaded extended midlatitude paths observed during magnetospheric storms of different intensities. An analysis of Omega-navigation signal data (f = 10.2 kHz) shows that the duration and magnitude of the anomalies depend on the restoration time and the intensity of the ring-current field, as well as on the season.
