Laboratory modeling of two-dimensional viscous-fluid flows inside a right triangle
Abstract
Experiments were conducted at Reynolds numbers ranging from 50 to 15,000 to study vortex flows arising during the flow of a fluid with a constant initial vorticity inside a right equilateral triangle. The experimental conditions, equipment, and procedures of flow simulation are described; and vortices observed in flow photographs are analyzed. It is shown that the flow characteristics depend significantly on the Re number.
