Maximum heat transfer capacity of heat pipes of complex configurations
Abstract
The paper is concerned with the problem of determining the maximum heat flux for heat pipes of typical geometric shapes, such as a cone, a sphere, a circle, and their combinations. Expressions for calculating the maximum heat flux and pressure losses are obtained for heat pipes of the typical geometric shapes investigated. As an example, the maximum heat flux is calculated for two metal-fiber capillary heat pipes using water as the heat transfer agent.
