CAD of precise SAW convolvers with high relative bandwidth
Abstract
A CAD procedure for optimization of SAW convolvers with narrow-aperture focusing chirp transducers including fully planar matching networks is demonstrated. A new finger arrangement for suppressing internal reflections in broadband chirp transducers has been devised. As an example, a 160 MHz bandwidth centered at 350 MHz with 17.5 microsec delay line length was realized with an efficiency of -63 dBm, flat to + or - 8 dB and phase-linear to + or - 6 deg.
