Diode-pumped 2-micron holmium laser
Abstract
For the first time, a GaAlAs laser-diode array pumped Ho:YAG laser operating at 2.1 microns has been demonstrated at 77K. Laser threshold occurred at 2.7 mW of pump power centered at 785.5 nm. A slope efficiency of 19 percent was achieved.
