Components using fence guide for millimetre-wave applications
Abstract
Feasibility of fence-guide components is examined in the 26-40 GHz band. Results of studies on various bends, tapered terminations, resonators and ring structures are presented. Existence of irregular wave modes and field leakage is investigated. Solid-state devices can be implemented to realize mixers, detectors, oscillators etc. This low-loss guiding structure is particularly suited for realizing millimeter-wave intergrated front ends.
