Design of a high-performance dc-ac inverter
Abstract
The design concept of a reversible-power-cell dc-ac inverter suitable for highly reactive loads is presented, and experimental results obtained with a breadboard version employing MOST devices are reported. Large-signal control of the cells is achieved by adjusting the feedback loop for variations in load and in source voltage. Prototype tests at 400 Hz and 60 V are shown to confirm the feasibility of the design, but significant performance improvements are required for its practical implementation.
