Simultaneous amplification at wavelengths of 10.6 and 5.5 microns in gas mixtures excited by a nonself-maintained discharge
Abstract
Experimental and theoretical determinations were made of the gain at vibrational-rotational transistions of CO and CO2 molecules pumped by a nonself-maintained discharge. Experiments were carried out on a setup combining CO and CO2 lasers. It is shown that an addition of CO2 can lead to a large loss (by several times) of the CO lasing efficiency, while the effect of the addition of CO is insignificant.
