Superequilibrium pumping in a CO2 gasdynamic laser due to the decomposition of N2O
Abstract
The superequilibrium pumping (SP) of CO2 was observed in a CO2 + N2O + He mixture during the decomposition of N2O molecules in an expanding GDL flow. The SP effect is due solely to V-V' energy transfer from the excited N2O decomposition products to CO2 molecules. The N2O decomposition kinetics is relatively simple, which makes the system considered here a promising model for the identification of the elementary chemical stages determining the SP effect.
