Low temperature large area blackbody radiant source with heat pipe
Abstract
A large area and low temperature area-blackbody radiant source with an operating range of -50 to +50 C is reported. It was developed by the isothermal theory of a heat pipe consisting of a blackened honeycomb cavity array which produces a high emissivity (greater than 0.995). Experimental results show that this source has excellent temperature uniformity, rapid response to temperature changes, no noise, no vibration, and no contamination.
