Differential Doppler velocimeter with fiber-optic waveguides
Abstract
The design of a laser Doppler anemometer with three fiber-optical waveguides is examined in which laser sounding of the flow is carried out via two intersecting beams. Instrument errors are analyzed as a function of the geometric parameters of the setup. Theoretical relationships are compared with experimental data for three versions of optical-fiber probes, and good agreement is obtained. The functioning of the LDA under actual operating conditions is examined.
