A simple method for the design of velocity filters with choosable discrimination
Abstract
A simple procedure for the design of velocity filters will be presented. The two-dimensional problem is reduced to several one-dimensional design problems, the number of which depends on the slopes of the boundaries between the pass and the stop region. Since the slopes can be chosen rather arbitrarily, more or less any desired discrimination can be achieved. The simplicity of the design procedure results in simple structures for the realization of this class of filters. Examples for the design and for realizing structures will be presented.
