Investigation of complex waves in a circular dielectric waveguide
Abstract
Conditions for the excitation of complex waves are given by some examples. The computed energy flow of complex waves at the transition between a circular waveguide and a circular waveguide containing a coaxial dielectric rod is shown by a plot. The influence of the shield distance of the shielded circular dielectric waveguide on the existence of complex waves of the open circular dielectric rod waveguide is explained. The energy flow of complex waves in the circular dielectric rod waveguide is visualized by plots. It is shown that even in this open waveguide the energy which is transmitted by complex waves returns to the place of excitation.
