Design of slot arrays for SAR applications
Abstract
In the design of high performance slot arrays, it is necessary to take into account the mutual coupling between the array elements, in order to obtain a good input matching for the antenna. A synthesis method for small arrays which explicitly includes the mutual coupling is analyzed and adapted to the analysis and synthesis of large slot arrays. An analysis and a synthesis which lead to the development of procedures efficient for small as well as large arrays are presented. Special care has been devoted to the reduction of the computer time and memory requirement, and to the error analysis.
