Spectral study of quasars from the Second Byurakan Survey of the north hemisphere. I. The quasars SBS 0953+549, SBS 1116+603 and SBS 1138+584.
Abstract
The results of spectral observations of three distant quasars (SBS 0953 + 549, SBS 1116 + 603, and SBS 1138 + 584) are presented. Spectra with a resolution of 3.5-4.0 A were obtained, making it possible to analyze the emission lines and the basic details in the absorption spectra of these quasars. The emission line L-alpha in the quasar SBS 1116 + 603 may have a two-component structure: a narrow peak and a broad pedestal. In the quasar SBS 0953 + 549, the L-alpha emission-line profile is similar to P Cyg-type line profiles which are observed in the spectra of stars with expanding shells.
