A study of the frequency spectrum oscillating phenomenon of a free electron laser amplifier
Abstract
In this paper, on the basis of a single-particle model, the dispersion equation for FEL amplification (FELA) is obtained by considering the effect of a first-order perturbation of the relativistic energy factor. The results show that the frequency spectrum of an FELA exhibits an oscillating phenomenon when the incident electron energy is sufficiently large. The origin of this phenomenon is attributed to the perturbing effect of the relativistic energy factor. A detailed discussion is given.
