Mode selectivity and misalignment sensitivity in non-degenerate phase-conjugators
Abstract
Eigenvalue equation for a resonator system with a phase-conjugate mirror at one end is solved for the nth-order transverse mode in the degenerate and the non-degenerate cases. The effects of the finite size soft-apertures and the mirror misalignment on the mode discrimination and the resonator stability are discussed. An optimal condition for a TEM00 mode operation utilizing a phase-conjugate mirror is obtained.
