Double Rydberg spectroscopy
Abstract
Properties of the neutral doubly excited states, mainly 9dn'd dougle-Rydberg states have been studied using a two-step two-photon laser excitation. Ionization of neutral Ba atoms in an atomic beam has been investigated by means of a time of flight mass spectrometer. Interpretation of the spectroscopic data has been made using the isolated core approximation model.
