Consequences of gravitational lensing for gamma radiation from 3C 273.
Abstract
The absorption of gamma radiation by photon-photon interactions in the core region of the quasar 3C 273 has been reconsidered because 3C 273 may be gravitationally lensed by a galaxy along the line of sight to the quasar. It is shown that the COS-B gamma radiation can escape from the same compact core as the X-rays if the intensifications of the gravitational lens is about 100.
