Influence of ion-atom collisions on the absorption of radiation
Abstract
It is shown that for the interpretation of the continuum absorption spectra, of A type stars, the processes H2++hbarω → H+H+ and H+H++hbarω → H+H+ must be considered together since their contribution is comparable. The corresponding absorption coefficients are also determined.
